Introduction to Rates and Claims Management with Stay at Work (SAW) and Early Return to Work (ERTW)

When you have a worker suffering from a work-related injury or illness, an effective claims management strategy can reduce the overall cost to you and your worker. This workshop is an overview of basic claim management principles where participants will learn:

  • How claims affect your premium rates.
  • The roles and responsibilities of employers, workers, physicians and claims managers.
  • How to build an effective claims management strategy.
  • How return-to-work can reduce claims costs.
  • What resources are available through L&I to help you develop your safety and claims management programs.

Workshop designed for: employers and designees responsible for the employer’s worker’s compensation claims and industrial insurance programs.

A representative from the Stay-At-Work (SAW) and Early Return To Work (ERTW) programs will be present to talk about the preferred worker program, saving money on workers’ comp and getting up to $10,000 reimbursed for returning an injured worker back to work in an approved light-duty job.
